It might be the 8th day of the new year, but I haven’t posted yet this year so why not do it now. So what have I been up to lately? First of all I’m taking a little break from my Zelda 100% completion project. Phantom Hourglass decided to die on me pretty randomly and it was a while since I saved when that happened. And at the moment I just can’t get myself to play it, I’m not too fond of some parts of the game, like the Temple of the Ocean King, and all the randomness involved in getting all ship parts. (more…)

As we’ve already mentioned, spaceships are another form of transportation, but this time it isn’t about an aerobot transformer. Instead it’s about the kind that humans fly through space and shoot evil aliens, and no it isn’t about Space Invaders. And to be honest, this will include a lot of songs from the game as it’s a remix/medley featured in a rythm-game to the PS2 and Arcade. This time I’ve chosen a song that most people don’t really link to fighting. There is some cheating involved since the song is from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Most of the songs in this game are remixed versions from other Nintendo games. I almost like everything about this remix, but the “singing” is horrible.

A fighting game series that stands out a bit because the heavy use of melee weapons is the Soul series. Most of you probably played games like Soul Calibur, and while it is possible for button mashing newbies to beat experienced players, they’re still very entertaining.

Something that I’ve been thinking about lately is; how many times can you repackage a game, perhaps update the graphics or audio, add an extra dungeon, and sell it again? Some games, especially Final Fantasy IV and Lunar: The Silver Star, have been remade a couple of times now. And while the first remakes of FFIV were simple ports, with added movies, the latest version is quite nice to look at.

Todays song is from the Square Enix and Disney crossover action-rpg Kingdom Hearts. It’s the music from Hollow Bastion, the world where you had to fight endless waves of creatures called Heartless. I really hated that place but the music was good. It’s one of the few RPGs i really enjoyed playing on the ps2 and didn’t get bored of halfway through.

The first week is over, and while some songs were posted a little bit late, we managed to present six songs we like. I’ll post a playlist with all the songs. Why? I’m not sure. I’m just gonna do it.
